Poo protest leader insists he's still in ANC

Cape Town - Former Cape Town councillorLoyiso Nkohla has insisted that he has not been expelled from from the ANC for his role in the dumping of faeces at Western Cape legislature buildings.

Suspended councillor Andile Lili was also expelled for his involvement in the protest, the Timesreported on Tuesday.

Cape Town was hit by a number of faeces-dumping incidents last year by people protesting about sanitation in informal settlements.

Many believed the portable flush toilets (PFTs) being rolled out by the city were no better than the bucket system.
Nkohla and Lili led the pro
tests.
On Monday, the ANC stated that it had expelled Nkohla and handed a three-year sentence to Lili, suspended for two years.

But Nkohla insisted that he had not been fired from the party until “nation leadership expressed an opinion” and said he would meet with his legal counsel on what step to take next.
